Get to know . . . Jérôme Sopoçko

What I do . . . I define the vision of where the Askia software range is going. I also fix bugs in the code I wrote 20 years ago. My proudest work achievement . . . Founding Askia with Patrick and making it a home for so long for so many of my colleagues. It does sound paternalistic, but I can live with that. My even more paternalistic achievement is to be the father of four boys – two of them I am not related to biologically…

Get to know . . . Michael Brennan

What I do . . . I’m one of the Support Engineers at Askia. I assist our clients with a variety of technical topics, including (but not limited to) survey script writing, survey design, fielding setup, software installations, data exports, data analysis, etc. I also assist Askia and our clients with technical training, database management, and server maintenance. I wear many hats. 🎩 My proudest work achievement . . . Due to a combination of luck, brute force, and experience, I’ve solved several “needle in a haystack” installation…

Get to know . . . Ramona Stratton

What I do . . . Most of my career I have done HR and employee relations, but these past few years my focus has been more on key account management and office administration.  This has not been a career change, but I must admit that I am enjoying it very much! My proudest work achievement . . . To continue to have an amazing working relationship with my team and our US-based clients – it’s been almost eight years now.   If I wasn’t working for Askia, I…

Get to know . . . Jordan Grindle

What I do . . . Technical Support Specialist (AKA Professional Ticket Wrangler). My proudest work achievement . . . Single-handedly tackling a very challenging, multi-month consulting project. If I wasn’t working for Askia, I would be . . . Proselytizing the merits of Cthulhu (from the acclaimed H.P. Lovecraft short story ‘Call of Cthulhu’), making a passable politician. The best advice I ever received was . . . Use two thin coats to paint your Warhammer minis, instead of one thick coat. If I could time travel…

Askia at the Insight Innovation & Tech Showcase

Askia’s Chief Customer Officer, Richard Collins took part in the Insight Innovation & Tech Showcase, at the end of April. Richard presented alongside Ipsos.Digital’s Ana Maria Tizu and they took the audience on a journey of fast, cost-effective, expert DIY research solutions – using a combination of Ipsos.Digital’s front-ends and Askia’s back-ends. Richard & Ana showed how Ipsos have been able to tap into Askia’s core technology to produce a unique environment for insight professionals to build and launch surveys. Technology & the future of market research @Festival of #NewMR

We were very proud to see that Askia’s very own Jérôme Sopoçko was one of the speakers at the inaugural French-language #NewMR event. The event was on Monday 12th of April. The event was run by the capable hands of Anne-Sophie Damelincourt, founder of Blue Lemon Insight & Strategy. Anne-Sophie discussed technology and the future of market research with Jérôme. A recording of the session is available here.

Unmasking Zorro

There was only going to be one theme for the 2020/21 Askia New Year card. Most years there are weeks of debate around Askia Towers, choosing what the global theme of the year just gone should be. So no wasted time this time around. It was clearly the pandemic. But how to find the right angle on what is a truly difficult situation for everyone? This one did take weeks of debate and brainstorming, until we organized one of those Zoom wine drinking gatherings. After a few glasses…

Askia New Year’s Card 2020/21

For many people, 2020 can’t come to an end soon enough and thankfully we don’t have much longer to wait before we can consign the year of this pandemic firmly into the past. Hooray to that! This is also the time of year when the Askia elves are busy creating our annual New Year’s greetings card. It’s Patrick’s turn to be the card “model” and it will come as no surprise to most of you to hear that a new costume has been ordered. Patrick is also growing…

The show must go on

This time of year is traditionally the start of the festival season in Europe and in any normal year, many of the Askia team would be heading off in camper vans to immerse themselves in a collective celebration of art, music, food, drink & humanity. But this is no normal year. The festival and conference industry has been hit particularly hard by the COVID-19 pandemic and our friends in the MR industry that run their conferences are proving that adversity really is the mother of invention. They have…
